St John's Church Worship

The detail below is our regular pattern of worship which is currently suspended due to COVID-19. Please refer to the information on the home page.

You are very welcome to join us at St John’s for any of our services.

We try to provide a varied pattern of worship here at St John’s.

1st Sunday each month
Worship and Praise service - 10:30am
This service is child-friendly and informal, and gives the youngsters an introduction to morning worship. The children will then leave the service around 11am to go to the Hall. Music is provided by our music group rather than the organ.
Evening Service - 6:30pm
The format varies but it is sometimes Evening Prayer (BCP rite) or Compline (Common Worship).

2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th (when occurring) Sunday each month
Parish Eucharist - 10:30am
Eucharist service with hymns.
The service is Common Worship Order 1 in contemporary language.

Sunday School - 10:30am every Sunday (in the Church Hall)
The children meet at the Church Hall before coming into Church later on in the Eucharist service, except for 1st Sunday as detailed above.
For more information, please check the Sunday School page.

After the main service on a Sunday morning, coffee and biscuits are served in the Church Hall.
Everyone is most welcome to join us for a drink and chat.

There are usually a number of additional services throughout the year, please refer to our Calendar for up-to-date information of forthcoming services.
Please contact one of the Churchwardens arrange any of these services.
Please do not fix a date for a Baptism, Wedding or Funeral before consultation with the Wardens as they need to consult with the Area Dean before a date can be confirmed.
